Deviled Egg Potato Salad
Deviled Egg Potato Salad combines two Southern classics into a delicious side dish that will make any gathering even better!

Our deviled egg macaroni salad is one of our most popular summer recipes on The Southern Lady Cooks. So, we decided to redo it, but as a potato salad. Let me tell you… this has definitely become a favorite! It’s a simple dish that comes together quickly. The hardest part is boiling the eggs and the potatoes. Add this southern favorite to your next gathering; your guests will love it!
KEY INGREDIENTS
- Hard-boiled eggs, peeled
- Medium-sized red potatoes (we didn’t peel them; it’s your choice if you want to or not)
- Chopped onion, we used Vidalia
- Celery, diced
- Mayonnaise
- Sweet pickle relish
- Yellow mustard
- Smoked paprika
- White granulated sugar
⭐Helpful Tips
- If you want a kick, you can easily swap out the yellow mustard for Dijon or spicy. You can also use a spicy relish.
- You could add bacon or top this dish with crispy fried onions.
- This deviled egg potato salad can easily be made in advance.
- Make sure to store this dish in the refrigerator.


Deviled Egg Potato Salad
Ingredients
- 8 Eggs boiled and peeled
- 8 -10 medium-sized red potatoes (we didn't peel them; it’s your choice if you want to or not)
- 3/4th cup of chopped onion we used Vidalia
- 1 cup of celery diced
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup of sweet pickle relish
- 1/4 cup of yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of white granulated sugar
Instructions
- Boil eggs, peel and chop. Cover the potatoes with water and boil for about 25 minutes or until soft when stuck with a fork. Remove from water and let cool completely.
- In a large bowl, cut potatoes into chunks and add the remaining ingredients. Toss and refrigerate for several hours.

This is the closest recipe I’ve seen that is in my family! I know the ingredients but not the measurements. Except we use celery seed instead. I can’t wait to make this and see how close it is to what I remember!

My Mom made this potato salad, she was from Texas, (vintage 1943) My Grandma did too Oklahoma ( vintage 1927) At 65 years of age. (vintage 1960)I make it too ! I add a bit of pickle juice ! Delicious, lol everybody has a version of potato salad, good to try different recipes to shake things up a bit.We all tend to make potato salads like our Mothers. Food brings back memories of times past and the present .Love Southern recipes !
