Every time I open a question box up on Instagram for The Southern Lady Cooks, it’s inevitable that someone will always say: “Help! I need new dinner ideas!” For so many, cooking dinner every night AND coming up with new ideas can be daunting. We get it! Here are a few of our tried and true simple dinner recipes that we find ourselves making over and over.

This No Peek Chicken and Rice is a one pot dish that never disappoints. It’s so simple to throw together and is full of flavor. My husband adores this recipe and it reheats wonderfully. You could easily add a simple salad but honestly, it makes a fine meal just as it is.

Five Simple Dinner Recipes

Alfredo Marinara Tortellini Bake makes a fantastic simple dinner. We love the versatility of this dish! You can easily use ground turkey, sausage, or ground chicken, whatever you choose to use…it’s delicious! Oh, and you don’t even have to thaw the frozen tortellini….it’s so simple! Again, this dish really doesn’t need anything, but you can always add these simple cheesy garlic rolls. If you’re a fan of pasta bakes, you may also like our unstuffed shells bake.

Crockpot Roast Beef is definitely a dish we make over and over again. It’s fabulous comfort food and couldn’t be easier to prepare. I love to make these cornbread muffins when I serve this dish but again, it’s not needed if you’re in a hurry. This roast is so tender and with the carrots and potatoes…the perfect meal!

This simple skillet meal is definitely a favorite! It’s full of flavor, and you can make it with andouille sausage, smoked sausage, or turkey sausage. If you have leftovers, they reheat great!

Again, this is another versatile recipe in that you can use ground turkey, ground beef, or ground chicken. You can also make these delicious sloppy joes in the crockpot or on top of the stove. Make a sloppy joe sandwich and serve with our smashed potatoes for a fantastic dinner. This sloppy joe meat is also fantastic over a baked potato, sweet potato or noodles.
