THIS BREAD IS SO SIMPLE
This quick bread comes together almost effortlessly and has the best texture! Plus, since it’s made with yogurt, it has protein! It’s strong enough for a sandwich but equally good, just served warm with butter. It would be the perfect addition to any meal. If you’ve ever been hesitant to bake bread….start with this recipe. You mix and bake; it couldn’t be easier.
KEY INGREDIENTS
- All-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Buttermilk or could use regular milk
- Plain yogurt or could use Greek yogurt
- Salt
What’s great about this bread is you can basically use what you have on hand. It’s fabulous with Greek yogurt or regular. We always have Buttermilk on hand, but if you don’t, you can easily use plain milk. This bread bakes up with a wonderful crust and a soft middle. Also, depending on what type of yogurt you use, this bread could easily have up to 25 grams of protein!

This bread is excellent for sandwiches. Just slice it thin like sandwich bread. Here are a few of our favorite sandwich recipes:

Unexpectedly Superb! Ten stars!!!!
I was skeptical- I made this today and now a believer. This is so moist, tender and springy! Since I had fat free yogurt on hand I added 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil to the batter. It baked beautifully!!It does not fall apart when you cut it. My husband has dry mouth from surgery and must be very careful when eating breads or crackers. He absolutely loves it as well and we will be baking this regularly- thank you, thank you!!
Fantastic! We’re thrilled it was a hit for you!! This is one of our favorite breads. Thank you for the kind comment!
Delicious bread and easy to make!
Fabulous recipe! I made it substituting with gluten free flour and added xanthan gum. I also added 1 Tbsp granulated white sugar to offset the salt. Love it! Finally had a bread worthy of a sandwich that DOESNT taste like dry cardboard!!
