A SIMPLE DESSERT

Most yum yum’s are made with a crushed graham cracker crust. This one is made using Golden Oreo’s. It completely changes the taste and texture, and we love it! Of course, cherries and vanilla go together so well. This no-bake dessert is perfect for any social gathering.

KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Golden Oreos
  • Unsalted butter, melted
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Powdered sugar
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Vanilla flavoring/extract

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. In a bowl, combine crushed Oreos and butter and combine until mixed well. Press into a greased 9X9 inch pan. Next, with a mixer, cream together cream cheese and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the whipping cream, 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Using a spatula or spoon, combine the cream cheese mixture with the whipped cream mixture.
  3. Now, spread a little less than half of the filling mixture over the crust. Spread evenly. Next make the pudding mixture by combining the instant vanilla pudding and milk. Continue whisking until it becomes thick. Spread pudding mixture over the filling. Drop pie filling over the pudding and spread evenly. Top with the remaining cream cheese mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Crumble remaining oreos over top before serving.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I use Cool Whip instead of making homemade whipped cream?

Yes, you can! Just leave out the whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla.

Do I have to let it sit in the fridge all night or can I make it just a couple of hours in advance?

This dessert needs time to set up. You can certainly serve it after it has chilled for 3-4 hours but it may still be a bit soft. It will still be delicious!
