WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

These butter pecan knock you naked bars require just five ingredients and aren’t hard to prepare. I love to make them up a day or so ahead of time because they keep well. Plus, the ingredients are very easy to find and are budget-friendly. They are prepared in a 9X9 casserole pan, making them perfect for a small gathering or potluck. If you like butter pecan and caramel, then you’re going to love these delicious little bars.

KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • Chopped pecans
  • Evaporated milk, divided
  • Melted butter
  • Kraft Caramel Bits

HOW TO PREPARE

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9X9 baking dish. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup of evaporated milk, and melted butter. This will make a very different type of batter; it will look dry. Press HALF of the batter into the bottom of the 9X9. Place in oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Over medium heat, melt caramel and the remaining evaporated milk on top of the stove. Stirring continuously until melted and starts to thicken. Pour caramel over the baked batter. Place in the refrigerator for around 30 minutes or until the caramel hardens. Press the remaining batter on top of the caramel (just kind of drop it and spread it the best you can) and bake for another 20-25 minutes. Let them cool before cutting.
