Ingredients

  • 8 ounce package cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
  • crackers for serving

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, onion, and minced garlic until combined. Place the mixture in a serving dish and shape it into a 1 inch-thick circle. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • In a saucepan, combine the butter (cut up in smaller chunks to make it easier to melt), brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Stir over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from the burner and stir in the toasted pecans.
  • Let the topping mixture cool for a few minutes and then spoon over the cream cheese.
  • Serve with crackers.

Notes

If you have any leftovers, store them in the refrigerator.
