Crumb-Kissed Muffins

Crumb-Kissed Muffins are moist and tender with a buttery sugar topping. They are delicious!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 sticks butter or 12 tablespoons or 3/4 cup softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cups of milk or buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Crumb Topping Ingredients

  • 3/4 th cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup of butter melted
  • 1 ½ cups of all purpose flour

Instructions
 

Topping Instructions

  • Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter together, until well combined. Add in the flour, use a fork to gently combine until crumbs form. You don’t want to over mix, just mix until you have crumbs. Place in refrigerator while you make the muffin batter.

Muffin Instructions

  • Using mixer, cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs and continue mixing. Add remaining ingredients and mix until you have a smooth batter. Spray a muffin pan and fill each cup 1/2 full. Spoon topping onto each muffin.
  • Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 35 minutes or until browned. Remove and let cool. Makes about 18 muffins depending on size you make them.
